Daniel Swisher is on the run from the police, suspected in his own brother's murder. He's also being chased by the real killer, Shoftiel, who claims to be an angel.
In his thirties now, Daniel has lived a tough life. When he was a child, his parents were brutally murdered, a scene that still causes him nightmares. Not exactly a model citizen, Daniel was expelled from college for fighting and has been in and out of trouble with the law ever since. Having just come off of probation, Daniel is wary of the cops that are waiting for him when he gets home from work, but they are not there for him. They were sent to notify him of his brother's murder. Upon entering his apartment, they are attacked by a man with incredible strength and speed. The two cops are killed and Daniel barely escapes alive.
Daniel flees the scene, suspected of being a cop killer, and enlists the help of his friend, Tim Andrews. Together, Daniel and Tim begin putting the pieces together and realize that the crackpot killer actually believes that Daniel is a Nephilim, a descendant of an angel and a human.
Running from the cops and the killer, Daniel frantically struggles to clear his name and unravel the mystery of his family's murder.

This was a good solid lead.Daniel finds out he is nephilim or at least a part nephilum The blood having been diluted through the generations.
His entire family is murdered and tortured.
He is chased by the police who believe he is involved in both the murder of his brothers family and the murder of 2 cops.
The church is watching him but not helping event the innocents who are being killed by the nephilim hunters.
The book is a little slow but starts to pickup about 1/3rd of the way in.
Ifeel the angels were portrayed as being more guilt than anything and frankly I would have disciplined them far worse for killing the innocents.
But I will definately read the second book when it comes out.
Note tI would have actually rated this as 3.5 stars.
It was a good idea but needed a litlle something extra.
But It was a solid book.

Loved this ebook.I didn't want to put it down. Am anticipating a sequel.If you like adventure,drama,with a mix of spirituality you gotta read this book.
A good story fairly well written.
I enjoyed the story about the angels. It seems human beings are even troublesome to the heavenly choir.
They mix of human and angelic beings is an old tale of Noah' s time . Cleverly woven into the story.

A book that I enjoyed from start to finish. The Author's works where new to me,and I enjoyed his other works.Which I read around the same time as this book. The Character "Daniel Swisher" is on the run from the police, suspected in his own brother's murder. He's also being chased by the real killer, Shoftiel, who claims to be an angel.Daniel frantically struggles to clear his name and unravel the mystery of his family's murder.
A thrilling book with lots of suspense! Thirty years ago an angel killed off his parents. Now a different angel has just killed off his brother is trying to kill him as well. A very interesting book with plenty of action! A series of books could easily be developed from this excellent book.
I picked up this book after reading the first three books in the Author's Restoration series. Looking at the reviews, on that series, revealed multiple complaints about the editing of those books. I will have to agree that it was a little distracting. However, the Nephilim only has a few distractions such as those.
I have always been curious about the Nephilim references in the Bible. While this is a fictional story, there were parts of the book that were almost believable.
The author's writing seems to be maturing, compared to the Restoration series.
I have read some of Christopher's work before. In this book, the descendants of children and angels are being hunted down by angels on orders from above. The characters could have been given more depth, but they were still interesting. I hope he has a sequel because the final scenes give that impression. There are some grammar and spelling errors that Christopher needs to work on, but on the whole I enjoyed reading this and look forward to the next one.
